I'll be home for Christmas...

Come on in... Welcome to our open house!  Can you believe that there are now only a few days left before Christmas!

Only the finishing touches are needed in our preparations for Christmas.  We still need to make our gingerbread house, it fills the house with a wonderful aroma.  Do you also prefer to have a really old fashioned, traditional Christmas.  Which are your favourite colours for Christmas ?

When we travel, we normally like to bring back some souvenir for Christmas.  Many treasured ornaments were given to us by friends.

Please sit down and make yourself at home. Would you like an eggnog or a mulled wine?  Do you also like all the old Christmas songs?  Which is your favourite?  Do you prefer Dean Martin or perhaps Sinatra?

Do you like the smell of cinnamon, or chestnuts roasting?  Or perhaps the fresh scent of poinsettias?

Do you also like to use your every day ornaments at Christmas time?  Even some 'chinoiserie'?

These are some of the entries in our Guest book for Christmas Eve, 2008.  It brings back so many memories when you read through the old comments that friends and family wrote.

Please leave a comment, and let me know if you and your family have special traditions, or even how you would like to spend yours!

Good Night and we hope that you are having a wonderful time with your family preparing for Christmas.

Hope to see you again soon....

Lize, I am honoured by your comment about my song. I know the feeling when you truly love a song and then you hear someone distroying it with a weak interpretation...mine is not fabulous nor extraordinary, I just wanted it simple.
I just discover your Christmas decoration and my first reaction is WOW! then, Oh, I hope Chloé doesn't see your beautiful wooden soldiers otherwise she is going to fall in love again...
I have to leave for the weekend, but will come back very soon to visit your Lize universe.
Bye for now!

OMG.... this is so beautiful it almost brings tears to my eyes!!!!
Your house is decorated almost in the same colors and style as the house I used to live in.......
Thank you for the invitation! I love the traditional colors, and those old fashion Christmas ornaments!
Some mulled wine and both Dean Martin and Sinatra would be great! And the smell of cinnamon mixed with fresh pine from the wood!

Have a wonderful Christmas Lize!
Christmas hug,
Synnøve

So many beautiful pictures! thanks for sharing all this great eye-candy!! I think over the years I have fallen in love with the blues and whites of Christmas! Reminds me of the snow we Never get!! I go home to Moms for the Traditional stuff, Her house is packed with lots of eye-candy at Christmas! Gingerbread houses are one of our favorite memories!! The first time My Mom and I tryed one, we ended up hot-gluing the whole thing together!! And laughed soooo hard!!! Good Times!

Merry Christmas!

Hello Lize, thank you for your comment on my blog! Have you tried using the "Google Translate" to translate my blog? In my ebay auction is also everything in english. The link is under the pictures.
The bear has real fur, but I must confess that I have not made it myself. I'm not so good. ;-)
I love your blog, I always discover wonderful new things, and your photos are great! Hugs, Anjah

What a beautiful festive home, Lize :). Mine is the least decorated house. No tree, not even lights :). Just too lazy to put them all back in the box after Xmas :). But you know what Lize? After reading your post, I took out these 5 wooden nutcracker soldiers I bought from JJ Market and strung them on my 4 poster bed :). Your post has inspired someone halfway round the world from you :).
