Tea for Alice

Here is an invitation...
Just in case you didn't get one yet...

If you arrive on your broom... does this mean it is going to be a flying visit?

I do hope not!
I would like for you to linger, at least for a little while...

Come closer and make yourself at home.

... Just not THAT chair...

That one is for the HATTER!

No sorry, can't sit there either!
That one is for ALICE!

Well actually, this one is for...

Oh, Never mind...

Don't be shy, do have a good helping of everything!

And make sure to save plenty of space for the cake!

The afternoons are VERY pleasant now for sitting in the garden.

Don't you agree?

I see you keep looking at the woods...

If you'd like to, we can go for a little walk...

Just don't shut the gate...
Strange things happen there and perhaps we may need to make a quick escape...

Did you see the size of the mushrooms?
They are VERY poisonous!
Can you imagine how big the Elves and the Fairies are!

Not to mention the Trolls!

I think we should turn back.
Dusk is a STRANGE time to be caught in the WOODS.

See how quickly night is falling...
The light is already changing.

Unfortunately, that means our TEA party is over...
BUT...

And I hope to see you again soon!

(Shall I pack some leftover chocolate cake for your journey back?)

This post is dedicated to the REAL ALICE, who was dealing with the usual, difficult job
Of growing up, and hormones,

When she was tossed into a HOLE of new experiences.
A LAND of tests, doctors, hospitals and MORE tests.

Chemotherapy
Despair
Anger

You lost your hair Alice, but you found your VOICE.
A BEAUTIFUL, CLEAR voice.

Keep singing Alice,
And LIVE STRONG.

I don´t know about your Alice, although I think I met a few in real life. Your story is touching, and also dramatic, as we reach the scaring wilderness of the world outside. Your work with miniatures are always both very impressive and expressive, which I admire very much.
Love, Susanne

What a delight to move through this charming scene!
You have a real storyteller's touch, with beauty, humour and just enough darkness to add depth and intrigue.
My very best wishes to Alice.

All the very best to Alice. Thank you so much for the wonderful time. I enjoyed sitting on the chair with the wonderful turquoise patina! Everything was so delicious and colourful!!! It was a shame to have to cut into the cake, so creative. Interesting in the forest, everyone needs a little of the dim with the light sometimes. Thanks again, what a terrific scene.

No words...amazing...wonderful pictures..wonderful fairytale..and wonderful Real alice.
Always behind the shadows is the light.
I am very sensitive to health issues ... because I'm not at my best in the last four years...
Tell to your Alice that has to be always positive ... the light will ...
A very big kiss for Alice and for you.

I wait that this real Alice, achieves with his support to manage to come to the wonderland and to be able to take you with the mad hatmaker, enjoying the moment. Sure that it achieves it and also it manages to go out of this hole, with good friends as you.
An embrace.

Inspiration and blessing are found in those who fight through severe adversity. Whichever way the fairytale ends is unfortunately not within our script nor control.

Although we try and understand why things happen the way they do it is better to let these thoughts go and appreciate the moment we live in today.

I've heard of you but don't know you. It would also be wrong for me to feel sorry for you so I’d rather encourage and admire the endurance you are showing.

You are in my every prayer…

Wow! But first, let me reprimand you for not sending me an invite! I had to crash the party with Hassan's trishaw :). No parking place too!

But everything's forgotten now. Scene is too beautiful. How do you take such great photographs, Liz? And that garden! I think we go to the same nursery for some of the plants but you definitely are way better at gardening. Enchanted Forest!

My heart aches for when you dismantle this scene or are you going to? All the miniatures are gorgeous. I think I saw the Alice in Wonderland cake featured somewhere?

My heart goes out to Alice and hope this brought her a smile the way it did for all of us at your party. I am sure, she does not mind sharing this with A-Lize. :)Here, take the blue shabby chair, you sure deserve one of the best seats in the house. I will sit in the trishaw :).

I love miniature things, they are so cute to me. You did an outstanding job, if I had not seen miniatures written on your blog don't know if I would have known.
You are a real artisan, keep up the good work. So nice that you dedicated to your real Alice. Don't know all her story but sure hope she is doing really well now.
Blessings, Nellie

Hello Lize!
I went to Brazil because my husband is from there, and I was several times visiting her family!
There is so much distance between Brazil and Spain ...

Chris said...

What a beautiful scene, thank you for showing it. I especially love the way you made the photos, so bright and colorful. Is this a special technique?

My best wishes for your Alice.

Lize said...

Chris,

No, I use no special technique, I have no special training but a love for ALL colours. Occasionally I use photoshop to 'fix' something, but mostly just to add script. I also use a good, but NOT the best by far, camera. I also never use my flash, but only natural light.
